Holiday Fantasy of Lights

I like to spend Christmas Eve looking at lights. This year, I managed to convince not Doug, mom and brotherface to go with me to Tradewinds Park for the Holiday Fantasy of Light.
It was hard to get the shots I wanted because the car in front of us seemed to always go where I was aiming and blocked my view. Here are my favorites.

I loved watching the moon over the lights. I have a few shots with the moon watching me.

a Hanukkah tradition

This year, due to somewhat crazy schedules, we didn't get together to make Hanukkah cookies until last night. The (belated) Hanukkah party is tomorrow! Things have just been busy around here.

I didn't make very many cookies last night so I don't have a lot of photos to share. If you want to see lots of yummy, sugary photos, please see last year's post.

However, this year is special because I found a dinosaur cookie cutter in the bin so we have sugary Steggies!

Doug also decided to make speech bubbles, but he hasn't put the message in yet.

I also found a shooting star in the cookie cutter bin and somehow ended up with this. It reminds me of the "The More You Know" star.

rainbow morning

A few minutes ago, I got a text from my mom saying "rainbow to the west." So I ran outside with my camera in my pajamas to take pictures.

"it's all around you * all is full of love"

Yesterday was a pretty inspiring day for no particular reason. Well, it was special in that I had nowhere to be so I could enjoy the beautiful golden light at both sunrise and sunset. You already saw what happened when I ran out the door barefoot at 8am; this is what afternoon/evening looked like.

I couldn't resist the title of this post. The Death Can for Cutie version of "All is Full of Love" popped in my head while I was editing the clouds and the birds. When I was younger, I used to listen to mix cds and watch the lake. I guess my mind associated the song with the view. Either way, it's true. If you only look around, there is love (and beauty) all around you.

I don't really buy into the whole Christmas thing but the decorations are quite lovely to photograph. I wish it was appropriate to keep lights up year-round.
