April showers may bring May flowers but to me, this month is about more than just flowers.
Challenge #1 – Illustrate the following word in a photo: Neighborhood
I woke up early one morning and went outside with my camera. It was quiet and still until I noticed some movement out of the corner of my eye. A friendly neighborhood ibis was just walking down the street.
Challenge #2 – Sunny Day – Capture a photo with sunflare
I was just aiming my camera out the window and following the sun. I caught it.
I already had the previous photo as my entry when I caught the sun peeking out from behind a building as it set. While the other picture is my official entry, I couldn't resist adding this one too.
Challenge #3 - Illustrate the following word in a photo: Friend
He was waiting for me to come to bed like he always does. I took too long and he drifted off, still holding my stuffed animals.
Challenge #4 – Get moving – Take a photo using motion blur
The sun was setting and I was trying to get a picture of a cow. We were moving and I got this instead. I kind of like it.
Challenge #5 - One click – Don’t cheat. Think twice, click once - Show us your first shot
This image was intended to be more of a snapshot than a fine art portrait. I set it up such that my splicer mask on the shelf gave me 'bunny ears.'

recent highlights
I've been slacking off a bit lately when it comes to blogging. I wouldn't say that this blog is 'low priority'; I just run out of energy before I run out of things to do.
Saturday we found some peacocks while we were out yard-saleing.
Sunday we went on an adventure for Mother's Day. We started out having Sonic on the beach and then drove up to Delray Beach to have Mellow Mushroom. Along the way, we ended up in a fountain and having a mini photo shoot at a bus stop.
Hopefully I'll be back to a semi-regular posting schedule soon.

when Mr. Andy comes to visit
In honor of Doug's graduation, his father came down. I love seeing Mr. Andy. Somehow we always end up on crazy adventures. Somehow, I also end up forgetting to take pictures. For example, I don't have any photos from Shorty's BBQ or the fruit stand. I was just having too much fun to remember to take my camera out. I almost feel like I'm doing this blog a disservice but not having more photos. But then I remember that I was laughing too hard to remember to take pictures and that's okay by me.
Thursday was Doug's graduation, which I managed to blog in a timely manner without getting overly mushy. Friday, we went exploring. There aren't any pictures from BBQ or Key Lime pie but there are some from when we went to Chapel Trail.
I love this 'family portrait'.
An anole was trying to assert its dominance. Mr. Andy stared it down until it ran away.
Mr. Andy got a picture of Doug and I exploring (which I copied from his Facebook).
Friday was BBQ, the fruit stand, a comic book shop, and the Pub. I don't have a single photo from any of those.
Saturday was Cinco de Mayo so we went to Tijuana Flats for lunch.
We also went to IKEA to get some furniture and Mr. Andy found a plush hedgehog for me. He was our mascot and lead us to victory.
The coolest part of Saturday was the supermoon. We went to Hollywood Beach to watch it rise. These photos do not do the scale of the moon justice.
We went to Jaxson's afterwards but I was too distracted by ice cream to take photos.
He left this morning and I'm already kicking myself for not taking him to more awesome places when I had the chance. I guess the in-laws will just have to come down and visit soon.

Doug graduates
I don't have the words for this post so I'm not even going to try. I'll just caption each photo and leave it at that.
'Professional' portraits before he went backstage.
A proud father-son moment.
The moment before he walked across the stage.
His academic adviser, Dr. Harrawood, presenting him with his medallion.
Post graduation roommate swing time.
I'm so proud of him.
