I was going to choose something else because it's so obvious that I'm thankful for Doug but ultimately, I couldn't. I've really been struggling with my health lately and he's been beyond amazing at taking care of me. I am super lucky to have him.

why I'm not a fashion blogger

Sorry I haven't been posting as often. Life is busy, things happen... There's a reason I have an 'apology' tag. I love taking photos and blogging but I've had neither time nor opportunity as of late. Still trying to finish my project 12 for the month (I had until tomorrow and if not, 4/5 will have to do) and starting to think about where to go to get my Christmas light fix.

In the mean time, I got it into my head that I should 'accessorize' my pajamas and take a picture.

There's a reason I'll never be a fashion blogger. But it was super nice to take photos.

good morning world

I woke up and pulled aside the curtain slightly to see the world outside. Then, I decided to experiment with HDR processing to see if I could capture the details as I saw them: bright sunshine outside that isn't pure white, rich shadows inside that still have detail.


I know it's not technically perfect, but it was a crazy idea that took 20 minutes from execution to posting (and that includes processing each image two different ways to see what I liked better, as well as a third I didn't like at all).

company picnic

Yesterday was my company's annual picnic and I was asked to photograph it. Okay, I was asked to photograph the football game and the obstacle course and maybe the cupcakes. There's not really much to tell but there's plenty to show...

I'm not going to lie: the cupcakes and face painting are my favorite parts.
