a beautiful day in the neighborhood

Yesterday the light was just GORGEOUS. I grabbed my camera and took a walk to see if I could capture the warmth and the glow. For as much as I love these photos, they don't quite do it justice.










It really was a beautiful day in my neighborhood.

My friend Lauren came home from Portland for a visit so we went to Jaxson's. In many ways, it hasn't changed as a kid. Heck, it probably hasn't changed much since my parents were kids (other than the cost of ice cream). I was too busy eating my sundae to take a lot of pictures but I'm excited about the ones I have.






This is Bruce. He travels everywhere with Lauren and she always takes photos with him. I couldn't resist taking a photo of him as well.


And this is what happens when I get my pigtails stuck in the photo sundae. It's still pretty awesome.


Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow so I can go to her 'birfday partay' and get more hugs.

a breath of fresh air

I heard it rain and I ran outside. I ran back in to grab my camera.
The world smells fresh and new and alive.
The cold raindrops pattering against the ground, splashing off every surface, running down my face...






This is happiness.

I apologize for the lack of posting. I've been having MAJOR issues with my computer not connecting to the internet. I also haven't been shooting much lately. But there is plenty of awesomeness coming up soon, I promise. I've heard rumors of a wedding reception and a trash the dress shoot.

In the mean time, I thought I would introduce you to a new friend of mine. Isn't he the cutest?


(I'm sure now a few of you are less than happy that I am back. Well, I missed you too.)
